Thai man wins lottery.

The Thai Lottery is State Run. Sellers get a small commission.

A Thai man from Rayong in eastern Thailand has won 30 million baht (US$916,310) in the government lottery. He says he will use the money to pay off his debts and put some aside for his children’s education.

33 year old Phongpat Witheethep, who sells fruit from his stall in a market in Pluak Daeng district, spotted a lottery ticket that caught his eye.

He was so convinced that the number 297411 would bring him luck that he decided to buy five more tickets. Each ticket won him 6 million baht.

Phongpat intends to move his family to his home town in Khon Kaen.

In the past, there have been cases of lottery winners being found dead a few days after receiving their lottery winnings. Phongpat decided to take no chances and reported his winnings to his local police station. If anything happened which caused his death in suspicious circumstances, the police would be able to start their investigations and apprehend the criminals involved and bring them to justice.
