30 million lost to ex-boyfriend. Today’s true story from the Beyond the Bamboo Curtain series is of a Thai woman asking the police to investigate her ex-boyfriend’s luxury lifestyle, suspicious businesses, and multiple mistresses.

30 million lost to ex-boyfriend. A Thai woman claimed she lost more than 30 million baht to her ex-boyfriend during their three years of relationship. She’s demanding he pay her back.
A 41 year old Thai woman, identified as A, brought her case to the non-profit organisation Sai Mai Survive on October 30, hoping to recover the money from her ex-boyfriend.
Today, she and the organisation then held a press conference to reveal the details to the public.
The unidentified woman said she’d been in a relationship with the man for three years after meeting him on Facebook. He initially worked as a chicken vendor.
She said, “My boyfriend often spoke about our future together, and to build a family.” I dreamed of a life together and gave him jewellery, designer clothing, and other valuables.
30 million lost to ex-boyfriend on his “business ventures”
During the first year of their relationship, she invested in his business ventures.
Also, to help him establish a stable career, this woman gave her boyfriend money to start a coconut fibre factory, but the business didn’t succeed.

She then invested in a pig farm. It failed.
The man later moved into stock trading and asked her to invest again. “A” gave him the finance he asked for.
Amazingly, she didn’t check that he’d actually bought stock with that money.
The press conference continues.
At the press conference, the woman and Sai Mai Survive confirm that she’s now only demanding 3 million baht, not 30 million. Her ex-boyfriend has agreed to repay in monthly 200,000 baht instalments and is keeping to his agreement.

Then, the woman went on to question her ex-boyfriend’s source of wealth. Adding that she told the police she suspected links to criminal operations.
She insisted she only wants her money back and isn’t seeking revenge by going public. She added that she once loved him deeply and never expected to end up in this situation.
Ekaphop Luangprasert, founder of Sai Mai Survive, said that disputes over assets must follow legal procedures, with lawyers checking all relevant accounts. He also expressed concern over the man’s unusually wealthy lifestyle and wants police from the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) to investigate.
How much of this story do you believe?
I’m just reporting the facts as presented by “A” and Sai Mai Survive. Although I find inconsistencies in these reports, and find some statements odd, I make no judgment.
Strangely, the woman has only recently realised that her boyfriend lives a life of luxury.
He drives a Lamborghini, a Porsche, and a Mini Cooper.
All of a sudden, she’s accusing him of engaging in illegal businesses and asking the police to investigate.
Amazingly, the woman now adds to her story to the police that her boyfriend has over 10 mistresses.
